It was an honor to serve RaiseUp Families as their Executive Director for nearly 4 years. In that time, the organization experienced unprecedented growth:✅ Expanded Board of Directors by 50% ✅ Doubled the number of families (clients) being served ✅ Client outcomes improved by 100% (average income increase in signature 9-month HandUp program went from 35% - 71%) ✅ Client graduation rate improved from 80% to 91%✅ Revenue growth from $450,000 to $1,000,015 (donations from private sources) These outcomes are a result of the Board of Directors and staff working together towards a common goal, each person utilizing their unique skills and abilities in their individual role to help the bus arrive at its desired destination. They are the result of hours and hours of innovation, hard work, and determination. As RaiseUp Families celebrates its 30th Anniversary of stabilizing families from vulnerable communities who face unexpected financial crises so their children can focus on their education, giving them the opportunity for a better life, it needs a full-time leader with passion, vision, and experience to lead it forward. I could not be happier that Kate Yadan will pick up this torch and lead RaiseUp into the future! "We know that change is a natural part of life, and those who embrace it grow while those who do not slowly die, metaphorically. Two of the largest obstacles to change are ego and pride. Moving out of our own way is the toughest battle most of us will face. Giving up our seat for someone else, stepping down when it's time for someone else to step up, and gracefully exiting when we have added all the value we can, are what we should all strive for." -Angela Burgess, Are You on the Right Bus?

Clare exhibiting for Family Fund Family Fund believes that families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people should have the same choices, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as wider families. We try to make this happen every day by:* Giving grants to families on a low income for items they may not otherwise be able to afford. For example family breaks, digital equipment, white goods, clothing, bedding, furniture and play equipment.* Offering services to help parents and carers to achieve the outcomes they want for their child and family. This includes where to go for support with money, benefits and budget planning, information on mental health and wellbeing. And practical workshops to help people get online and use digital tools.* Providing ways for families to share their experiences, so they can influence lasting change on issues that matter to them.

Love your eye ❤️ Ainak is a Silicon Valley nonprofit, in providing free eye exams and prescription eyeglasses to the under-resourced children in California. Ainak's mission is a powerful commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind in their educational journey due to the financial constraints of their parents or guardians in affording proper eye care. We believe in providing every child with the opportunity to achieve a 20/20 vision, recognizing that this not only supports their academic success but also cultivates the confidence necessary for them to thrive in life and pursue their dreams. The statistics further underscore the urgency and significance of our mission. A staggering 62 million Americans lack access to essential eye care and eyeglasses, creating a substantial gap in addressing visual health needs. Equally concerning is the fact that over 300,000 children commence their school year each September with vision impairment, underscoring the critical nature of our work.Alarming is the diagnosis of vision impairment in 1 in 3 preschool-aged children. This statistic emphasizes the crucial role Ainak plays in intervening at an early age to prevent not only immediate hindrances to learning but also to avert potentially severe eye health problems as these children mature.

💖 One way to raise compassionate, empathetic, and socially responsible children is to encourage and support their passion for change, no matter how young they are. Children are naturally curious, kind, and creative, and when you empower them to turn their ideas into action, you give them the tools to become changemakers in their own right.Whether it's through volunteering, fundraising, advocacy, or simply being kind to others, you can make service and kindness a cornerstone of your family's values and build a better world together. Here are actions you can take to get started: https://lnkd.in/ggt_vmZz

How do we ensure a fair start in life for every child? The science is clear: Equitable family entitlements that encourage delayed parenthood work. Fair Start family reforms are the most just and effective way to protect children, animals and the environment. Join our Tell the Truth campaign urging corporations and charities to disclose their family policies, past and present, and the impact of those policies on things like inequity and the climate crisis.Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gMStSD_j#fairstart #equitable #family #parenthood #familyreforms #familypolicies #climatecrisis #policy
